Welcome to Mr. Lalko's classroom! We look forward to a wonderful, exciting, and educational school year of learning. In science, we will engage in a unit on measuring time by forming hypotheses, performing experiments, making observations, recording data and creating graphs and drawings. In math, we will cover a lot of skills from last year, only on a sixth grade level. In reading, students will do a lot of independent reading plus read along with me at the SmartBoard. For language, we will write expository, argument and narrative essays.
Mr. Lalko has taught 6th grade at Oak Tree since the school opened in 1999. This is his 36th year with Gilbert Public Schools. He did his undergraduate education at Central Michigan University, and earned a masters degree from Northern Arizona University.
